The Working Dog Auction held on Sunday presented 27 dogs for sale with a clearance of 81%. The sale also showed great confidence in the livestock industry with dogs selling to a top of $6,100 and a sale average of $2,121 which is much stronger than in previous years. The top priced dog was sold by Matt Whitley from Mangoplah to a farmer from Hillston. The second top price was for a kelpie bitch sold by Andrew Mintern from Winton in Victoria, she made $4,700. This was a great result and the Wagga Yard Dog Club sends it's thanks to Glen Foredyce from Rodwells for his time and skills as an auctioneer. Thanks goes to everyone else who helped out over the weekend, including the students and staff from Charles Sturt University and the ladies from the Riding for the Disabled for their time and efforts.
